Good old Ed Gein was your typical reclusive farmer next door. He kept to himself and was a pretty regular kind of guy. Except when he mummified his dead mother so he could talk to her after her death (and maybe do other things to her…). He liked murdering local women and making masks out of their faces and wearing them over his face. Pretty normal stuff. Ed was also thrifty. Instead of spending money on candy bowls and such, he made candy bowls out of the women’s skulls and kept them on the coffee table in his living room. He also ate the women to save money on the high cost of meat, even in those days back in the 1940’s. His life was the basis of the movie Silence of the Lambs. Even the farm house was totally creepy…
